STARMAX, ORLANDO FL- THE FLOOD CONTINUES!

Lake County man claims a local dealer sold him a car with a hidden past.

Allen Ucci said he had no clue a 2007 Nissan 350 Z had been badly damaged before he paid $13,500 to buy it. He claims the dealer, StarMax Finance, never told him it was in a flood and he only discovered it after the vehicle’s engine blew out .

“That means there’s a big hole in the engine block that squirts oil everywhere and it will not run,” said Allen.

Later, Allen found the vehicle’s title was branded a flood vehicle.  In Florida, regulations require that disclosure in writing.

Loribeth Ucci and her son claim that didn’t happen.

“That was never said and never told and I’m not going to stop, because I am extremely upset,” said Loribeth Ucci.

At the dealership, a manager showed Action 9 a document he said Allen signed that disclosed the flood damage. But the document wasn’t dated and didn’t have the dealer signature, unlike other sales documents.

WFTV was denied a copy of the document.

“Are you blaming me? Are you blaming me?” asked the store manager.

“The customer is,” said Action 9’s Todd Ulrich.

Later, a state DMV investigator went to Starmax and told Allen the company showed her a disclosure that had been dated and notarized, a far different document than the one Action 9 saw just days before.

Starmax said the notarized version had been locked in a safe and the car’s price reflected a flood title value.

The Ucci’s contacted the DMV and the agency investigated.   It told the Uccis it can’t determine if the document is invalid and that they needed to file a complaint with the Department of State, which regulates notaries.

“To find a flood-damaged vehicle, oh, no no,” said Loribeth Ucci.

The DMV told the Uccis they could file against the dealer’s state bond to recover some money.

STARMAX ORLANDO, FL DUBBED “DIRTY TACTIC CROOKS” BY MANY!!

THE INNER WORKINGS OF THIS DEALERSHIP IS LIKE THE INNER WORKINGS OF THE MOB

CUSTOMER:

I bought a car at Starmax a year ago and made every payment on time (23%). I pay every 2 weeks and called as usual to give my cc. I did not think anymore . My next payment comes up and they repo my car because they say I never made payment. The money is still in the bank!!! Usually when this is done you pay full charge to get it back but the garbage owner asked for $2500 knowing they should have run my pmt ( being nice)..DIRTY TACTIC CROOKS

CUSTOMER:

They sell cars that are bad. They tamper with Diagnostic equipment so unsuspecting customers don’t find out about problem until after sale.

They will not make good on any cars. They are junk. They main source for buying vehicles is on craigslist. Stay away from starmax in orlando florida.

They also provide warranty that will cover nothing.

My vehicle was used and after I drove home, the very next day the car began to shake and would not shift properly.I took to repair shop to get fixed and shop stated this vehicle was defective from the get go.

CUSTOMER:

I financed a car from this establishment and it was probably one of the worse things that i have ever done! The company as a whole is a complete scam and the most unprofessional EVER! Don’t let there “sales pitch politeness” take you or your wallet for a ride. Soon as one thing they do not want to hear comes up you will regret ever even driving by this scamership! I have had NUMEROUS problems when them since i signed the papers for the car. Got into a car accident shortly after getting the car my insurance company sent me the check with my name and the lien holders name that was suppose to be given to the auto-body shop. But of course they do not follow the law so they DEMANDED I give them the check and they would give it to the body shop. Of course they never gave the check to the auto-body shop and unlawfully cashed the check (which is a felony.) After took a 7 weeks to fix the car and then another 3 weeks of calls from myself and the auto-body shop to the dealership which still did not resolve anything and forced me to go down to the dealership and demanded they write a check (which of course was a PERSONAL check.) The list goes on and on about the issues i have had with them. My car payment was 1 day late and they repossessed my car. They have yet to return my belongings that were in the car which was about a month ago. OVER ALL I WOULD SAY THIS IS ONE OF THE LOWEST OF THE LOW CAR DEALERSHIP AROUND. STAY AWAY!!!!!
